i pretty much absolutely love these movies...

i'm a movie addict!!! i loooooove movies. i always have. when i was a kid, my brother and i watched newsies & the brave little toaster over and over and over again... and that hasn't changed one bit. even though i'm busy and constantly on the go i still manage to watch the same movies multiple times. and by multiple i mean upwards of 10 watches... usually more... so here it goes my list of top 5 rewatchers!
1. You've Got Mail - this is hands down my favorite movie of all time. i send my love and regards to nora ephron's family and friends, she was a genius!!! i have probably watched this movie 100 times and every time i fall in love with another funny line or random reaction. my mother, the captain, and i are constantly quoting this film!!! daisies ARE a happy flower!!! tom and meg are absolutely adorable as joe fox (F-O-X) and kathleen kelly (don't they know you're supposed to have a last name!?!) the film boasts a kick ass ensemble cast including parker posey, dave chappelle, steve zahn, greg kinnear, and dabney coleman to name a few... and they are all brilliant!!! i could probably quote this movie beginning to end, but i won't... don't cry shopgirl... okay done... swear.
2. Scream - yes, i absolutely love this movie!!! i can't quite explain other than to say, if scream is on tv i am watching it. sad, but true. i love me some wes craven & kevin williamson campy/scary/funny goodness. how could you not love drew barrymore hanging from a tree by her innards!?! totally gross!! and sydney prescott for president, HELLO!! this bitch should've been dead so many times and yet she always lives to see another awesome yet less successful film... yes, that's right. i love all of the scream films. 1, of course, being the best, then 4, then 3, then 2... no, i haven't thought about this A LOT. okay, yes i have. crap. if you've never seen scream you absolutely have to... more so for the laughs than the scares.
3. Bridesmaids - okay, so i was super late to the bridesmaids train. mostly because i was never really a fan of kristen wiig... until now that is. when i finally redboxed this movie i laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed... and seriously i watch it every single time it's on hbo. when the captain pulls into the driveway i try to time it just right so i can change the channel at the very last second so he won't see that i'm am, in deed, watching bridemaids again. i think maya rudolph is a genius and rose byrne is absolutely perfect in this movie. melissa mccarthy is spectacular and offers up my favorite line of the movie which oddly enough isn't funny, "i don't associate with people who blame the world for their problems because you're your problem, you're also your solution." yes, that's from memory, so it might be paraphrased. i can't talk about bridesmaids and not mention officer rhodes, the beguiling chris o'dowd! he is absolutely wonderfully fabulous-- not an exaggeration. unless easily offended, you should watch this. stat.
4. Crazy, Stupid, Love. - yup, this might be one of my favorite movies of all time. do you realize how serious that is?!!? all times!!! that's up there with jerry maguire and roman holiday. this movie is the sweetest, saddest, funniest, most beautiful movie i have watched in a very long time. i have been watching this on a loop for the last month and it makes me so unbelievably happy... and not just because of ryan goslings abs. i can't every try to explain this movie to you because it's a story you just need to watch, but i assure you it will have you hooked in minutes. steve carrell deserved awards for this film, seriously, he's so good!!!! ryan gosling is, well, ryan gosling and he's utter perfection and all of the supporting cast is just magnificent... emma stone, julianne moore, analeigh tipton, marissa tomei, and kevin bacon... right!?!? apart from just all-around awesomeness the film offers the best kiss in the history of kisses... just watch the damn movie.
5. Pride & Prejudice - i love this version of jane austen's classic tale. it's beautiful and beautiful and did i mention that it's absolutely beautiful!?!? the director, joe wright, perfectly captures austen's picturesque sweeping landscapes. i love everything about this movie, it keeps everything from the story in tact while somehow feeling more modern... keira knightley does not disappoint as elizabeth, she is strong and believable as the iconic character. matthew macfadyen as darcy?!? yes, please!! it's a wonderful adaption for those days you don't have 7 hours to watch the bbc miniseries version!! this is an awesome girls night movie.

so, have you seen any of my fave 5 rewatchers!?!? do you love them as much as i do!?!? if you don't, it's probably best to keep that information to yourself... i'm very protective of my favorites... no, seriously... i'll end you... wow... sorry... calming down.

  2. What a great list! You've Got Mail is at the top of my list, too. Meg and Tom are great of course, but you're right--the entire cast is spectacular, especially Parker Posey. I just saw this new film she's staring in called "The Love Guide." She's HILARIOUS in it, you should check it out asap--it's on OnDemand right now. 3. I haven't seen Bridesmaids yet. I need to get on that. Does Split Infinity ever come on HBO? How many times do you think we watched that one?
